Make sure you have entered the shell from Locomotive (Open Terminal in the Rails menu, command-T, or Open Terminal in the ctrl-click contextual menu)
Open a Terminal from Locomotive and run 'gem install whatever-gem'. This will install your new gem in the Locomotive bundle. (This is a non-optimal solution, as you will have to re-do this every time you want to use a new/updated bundle. I am working on a simple method to install new gems and libraries into your rails application's vendor directory.)
You can join the locomotive-users mailing list by sending a message with the subject 'subscribe' to locomotive-users-request@lists.raaum.org
